I want this post to explain my process on how I go about planning vacation outfits. Hopefully this will help you the next time you are packing! I have to say that I always have so much fun planning my outfits to wear on trips.
It makes me so excited that I now have a place to share all of these details with you so you can shop the same or similar items! Don’t we all know that one person who doesn’t want to share their outfit details for some reason?… I can promise you I’ll never be that person LOL.
How I Plan Vacation Outfits:
My first step in planning vacation outfits is thinking about how many days I will be away for and what kinds of activities I will be doing. I also make sure I check the forecast for the location I will be at so I can ensure I am picking my outfits appropriately.
For example, for this trip to Florida I knew I was going to be here approximately 7 weeks. I knew my main activities would be the pool, the beach and some casual dinners. I do have a washing machine here so I could’ve take that into account as well. For most people this will mean they will bring fewer outfits but I’ll be honest in saying that isn’t usually the case for me. I’m definitely a chronic over packer. I just really like to have options!
My Vacation Style:
I’m a firm believer in packing what you are most comfortable in. I pretty much live in sundresses while I’m on warm vacations. They are definitely my go-to pieces because they are just so darn easy. I prefer to not have to pick multiple pieces to form together an outfit therefore a dress always gets the job done! They are stylish, easy and light so what could be better?! For this specific trip I also made sure to pack some lounge wear, pjs and of course bathing suits. All of this pretty much had my bases covered clothing wise. I also packed an assortment of shoes and purses that went well with multiple of my outfits.
Photo Opportunities:
I also plan my vacation outfits around certain photo opportunities. When I am travelling I do a lot of research prior to the trip. I do this in order to scope out the cutest locations, restaurants and shops. Even if you aren’t into blogging or shooting content for your Instagram, taking nice photos for memories is so much fun! I love when my outfit somewhat coordinates with the setting that I’m in. For example, If I know I’m going to go to a café with a girly and pink setting then I’ll be sure to dress similar to that theme.
Hopefully this post gave you some insight on how you can narrow down what outfits to bring on future vacations.
P.S. These photos were taken on a day where my boyfriend and I took a spontaneous trip to The Naples Pier during golden hour. I’m obsessed with how they turned out!
