I just returned from literal winter wonderland and I wanted to share some details with you guys! Big White Ski Resort is located in Kelowna, British Columbia. My family has had a place there since 2008 so I have been going there for YEARS. Some of my fondest childhood memories took place at Big White and for good reason. It is so beautiful and there are SO many things to do!
Skiing & Snowboarding:
There are so many fun winter activities that you can do at Big White. The main activity is skiing and snowboarding. My entire family snowboards and it is something we really enjoy doing together. They have a variety of runs for every skill level: magic carpet green runs all the way to a double black diamond called “The Cliff”. The conditions are amazing and there is tons of powder to go around. They also offer private lessons if you are needing some instruction while learning.
Winter Activities:
There are so many other activities that you can do at Big White as well. They offer skating, tubing, dog sledding, snowmobiling and sleigh rides. These can all be booked online HERE or at the outdoor activities hut at the bottom of the gondola. Another activity that I tried for the first time on this trip was snowshoeing. It is exactly like hiking but on the snow! The views are amazing and it is also a great workout.
Food:
There are quite a few restaurants right in the main village that you can take advantage of. My family mostly cooks while we are in Big White but one restaurant we love is called The BullWheel. They have the most amazing poutine and heavenly hot chocolate (thank me later).
Safety Protocol:
Travelling during this time is a bit different obviously but Big White Ski Resort has kept it completely safe with lots of protocol in place. Masks are mandatory in all lift lines and in any public space. You can check their website for more information on all of their precautions.
Conclusion:
If you get the chance to visit Big White Skit Resort then I highly recommend doing so. It is absolutely stunning and there are endless things to do. They don’t call it “Beautiful British Columbia” for nothing that is for sure! If you have any questions about Big White then send me a message and I’d be happy to answer them.
P.S. Keep up with me on Instagram HERE. Love ya’ll and I’ll cya in my next post!
